Jardine Paterson/d'Erlanger engagement
« on: October 13, 2009, 01:08:16 PM »
Prince William's chum, Emilia d'Erlanger, has announced her engagement to David Jardine Paterson, kin of Pippa Middleton's former squeeze, JJ Jardine Paterson....

Emilia is a granddaughter of the late Viscount Exmouth, and was mooted as a possible bride for HRH as far back as 1999.

Good for her! She seems to be one of Kate's best friends, so maybe Kate will be a bridesmaid or something.

Emilia d'Erlanger puts more pressure on Prince William
« Reply #2 on: October 14, 2009, 05:12:33 AM »
While Kate Middleton waits patiently for Prince William to propose, another one of her closest friends, Emilia d'Erlanger, has become engaged. The 27 year-old, who runs an interior design company, d'Erlanger and Sloan, will marry David Jardine-Paterson, 28, next year. "We are so excited," he tells me.

Her fiancÚ, who was in the same year as the Prince at Eton, recently abandoned accountancy to pursue a career in alternative energy. When the Prince and Miss Middleton split temporarily in 2007, Miss d'Erlanger went with her on a recuperative trip to Ibiza. As a teenager, she was linked to the Prince after joining him on holidays.

 Yep.  Pippa dated JJ Jardine-Paterson for about 3 years, while she was a student at Edinburgh uni.  Pippa and JJ broke up a few months before she graduated from uni in 2007.

The Jardine-Patersons are a part of the Jardine family, a fairly old money family.  The Jardine-Paterson ancestor Dr. William Jardine was one half of the Jardine-Matheson partnership that created the HUGE Jardine Matheson company in Hong Kong in 1832.  Jardine, Matheson & Co. literally developed Hong Kong, and the family is extremely wealthy.

There've been two movies made about the Jardine-Matheson company and the Jardine family: 'Tai-Pan' and Gai-Jin.  ;) Apparently, both Pippa and Emilia d'Erlanger have good taste in men.

:congrats: Congratulations and best wishes to David and Emilia.

*Trivia: both David J-P and Emilia d'Erlanger attended the roller-disco charity event Kate Middleton helped to host in 2008.

Kate seems to be friends with all the women William has been linked to. She's waited out all the flings (if the flings are true considering how reliable the media is) another reason they call her Waity Katie? This girl is earning her crown.  :P

Congratulations to the couple. I am sure it will be a lovely wedding and Kate will attend.

It is a shame that the press and some online posters do not get that William and Kate getting married is quite different then their friends getting married. People keep harping on the subject and it is a dead horse, really. This picture that some wish to paint of Kate all sad and disappointed because her friends are marrying and she is not engaged yet is foolish and unrealistic. This is not some fairytale, it is someones real life. I am very sure that Kate is not sitting around waiting for William to pull out a glass slipper, get down on one knee and propose. The two appear quite comfortable in thier current state and when the time comes to move it to the next level, they will do so.

Until then the press really needs to come up with a new angle, because all these repetitive engagement stories are making the press look desperate, not Kate.

It will be interesting to watch Kate go to yet another wedding and still not be engaged.
Maybe she'll just always be the wedding guest , never the bride for a Royal , anyway?  :notamused:

I can only imagine the much hyped still not engaged Kate Middleton.  ;)
Can't wait to see how this all plays out with William.

I was chatting earlier with a very intelligent British female who has lived in Britain all of her life and is working on her PhD. I thought it would be interesting to find out the opinion of an average person in society, so I mentioned the KM/PW situation to her. I was astounded when she told me that she has heard of her but that not much is made of her because she's not a big celebrity. She said she does not know what Kate Middleton looks like and wouldn't know her from the next guy if she saw a picture of her or saw her on the street. She said that she thinks that next to no one in Britain would want to be in Kate Middleton's shoes.

How old is emilia???
She looks veeeery young...especially besides kate who looks very old on this especif pic...mostlly to the clothe shes i wearing!
Emilai wasnt that girl who had an affair with harry back in teen ages????
Or it was wills??I really dotn remember but i think it was with harry!

I think its very funny that the date and marry with each others afafirs and friends..its so weird and basically shows how british society circle is closed..coz otherwise they would date other people rather than the same ones!
I mean pippa dated jamess who is the brother of emilia future husband..and emilia is kates best friend...
and kate was friends with olivia something who have dated william once and was dating currentlly one of william best friends nicolas van cutsem...
and harry was with emilia once...and then dated chelsy but afetr they broke up he was supose to be seeing astrid balblabla who is kate friend and known from chelsy...
wow....
the circle never ends!!!!
Everyone stays with everyone...is veeeery..very weird!!!!!!!!

Emilia never dated Harry. Pippa and JJ Jardine Pattinson attended together to the photography exibition launched by Kate in November 2007 (29th November I think) and broke after that. I know they split because they passed apart the skiing holidays in Easter 2008. Pippa was with Kate, Prince William and Prince Charles. JJ was with friends (one of them George Percy).

Media posted a wrong pictures years ago, Emilia is the girl who Hippo said. I will try to post a picture of David, I have to search it and make the photobucket.
