Belgium's Princess Astrid Meets with Peruvian Transportation Minister

Belgium's Princess Astrid met on Thursday with Peru's transportation and communications minister, Jose Gallardo, at the start of her three-day visit to this country during which she was scheduled to meet with President Ollanta Humana and other officials and visit public and private institutions.

During the meeting, Minister Gallardo discussed with the princess, who is heading a trade mission to Peru, a series of highway and communications infrastructure projects that he said were the most significant for strengthing trade between the two nations, the ministry said in a communique.
