King Henry IV of England married Joan (Joanna) of Navarre on February 7,1403.
In 1403 he dowered her to the sum of 10,000 marks, payable from the exchequer until such a time as rents could be collected from her assigned lands in the duchy of Lancaster holdings.
Joan received many traditional queens' lands.
These included the manors of Woodstock, Ludgershall, Geddington, Langley, Havering, Gillingham, and Rockingham.
Joan also received the castles of Bristol, Hertford, Nottingham, and Leeds.

It was at Queen Joan's request in 1405 that Henry IV ordered the release of all Breton prisoners in England without ransom.
