QuoteCamilla, the Duchess of Cornwall officially opened a new £15 million intensive care unit at the Countess of Chester Hospital.

The unveiling was carried out as part of a whistle-stop tour of Chester and the surrounding area by Prince Charles and the Duchess on Friday.

The royal couple also visited Lache Primary School, Lache Integrated Early Support Centre, Chester Cathedral and the Airbus factory in Broughton.

The hospital trust's chief executive Tony Chambers said: "Having a royal visit as part of a year of anniversary celebrations at this hospital is hugely important. The prestige and memories associated with events like this create a lasting impression for both the NHS staff working here and the patients that we care for.

IMHO Camilla has good rapport with the public during her meet and greets. Glad for the residents that they'll have such a modern facility to help provide care.
