It looks like Prince Harry's visit to the Caribbean will be an interesting trip. I've seen so many beautiful pictures of the different islands and all of them seem like great vacation spots to visit.

I am a little surprised though that it was scheduled during the region's hurricane season, but with the Independence Anniversaries that will be taking place that will have to take precedence.

I guess they decided not to let Prince Harry do interviews in the Caribbean because the media would constantly harass him about his new girlfriend. It is unfortunate that the Queen couldn't visit the Caribbean, but least her grandson Prince Harry will visit there on her behalf.

QuoteQueen wanted to undertake tour of Caribbean, but couldn't due to long-haul flight

It has been revealed that The Queen wanted to visit the Caribbean later this month, but is unable to do so because she no longer undertakes long-haul flights.

Instead, Her Majesty has asked her grandson, Prince Harry, to undertake the visit on her behalf, according to The Queen's Assistant Private Secretary, Sam Cohen.

The Queen, who is the oldest monarch in the world, has drastically cut down on the amount of long-haul travelling she does.

That seems rather inconvenient on a royal tour.

QuotePrince Harry avoids a near miss in Barbuda

On Prince Harry's final day of his visit to Antigua and Barbuda, part of his two-week Caribbean tour, he started the day off getting dive bombed by a frigate.

Prince Harry was visiting the Frigate Bird Sanctuary to learn more about the part it plays in Barbuda's eco-tourism industry. He was given a boat tour through the mangrove to witness the beautiful birds that are known for their unique mating rituals of the male puffing up their large red chest to attract a female. While the birds swarmed above, one got a little close for comfort nearly missing the prince.

Harry barely noticed the bird, unlike the media follow boat who got it all on camera.

QuotePrince Harry wins over pre-schoolers on St. Kitts

On Wednesday, Prince Harry was in Nevis and St. Kitts for a leg of his cCaribbeanRoyal Tour. He first spent time on the island of St. Kitts, arriving fifteen minutes early, having his official welcome by the Queen's representative, Governor General Sir Tapley Seaton rush to greet him. Prince Harry traveled from Antigua aboard the Royal Fleet Auxiliary tanker RFA Wave Night.

Harry inspected the Guard of Honour before walking about the main square in Port Zante where he spoke to almost every child. After the conclusion of the military parade, Prince Harry met the usual group of dignitaries. He was introduced to Sir Kennedy Simmonds. I like how Prince Harry is passionate about helping the wildlife. :) It was very nice of him to help release the baby turtles back in the ocean.

QuoteInto the Wild: Prince Harry Releases Baby Turtles

Passionate Conservationist Prince Harry met volunteers from the Nevis Turtle Group in St Kitts and Nevis and helped release baby turtles as part of his Caribbean tour.

Though the young royal arrived on one of the world's most secluded beaches at the wrong time of day to see turtles hatching and burrowing their way to the surface of the sand, five baby green turtles which had been found trapped in thick vegetation were kept for him to release.

Prince Harry carefully examined the first turtle before gently placing him at the water's edge and exclaimed 'A whole team!' when he was given the others. As the tiny turtles made their way down the short, steep beach to the water Harry gestured towards the surf with his hands, willing them on and saying 'Go, go, go!' and directing them 'That way!'

QuotePrime Minister Timothy Harris avoids meeting Prince Harry

During Prince Harry's one-day stop to St Kitts and Nevis this past Wednesday, one person was missing; Prime Minister Timothy Harris.
The Prime Minister, who knew of Prince Harry's visit, left the island three days before Harry arrived and is being shamed for his actions by the opposition party.
Marcella Liburd, Chairman of the opposition St Kitts-Nevis Labour Party was disappointed in the Prime Minister's "selfishness". Speaking to WINNFM Liburd said:
"I think it's highly disrespectful. I'm not a Queen person or a monarchy person but that is beside the point. This is where we are and we should go along with the protocol and show respect.

QuoteDéjà vu for Prince Harry as he sleeps on board a Fleet Auxiliary Ship

For six nights during his fourteen-day Caribbean tour, Prince Harry is staying aboard a Royal Fleet Auxiliary boat. According to protocol when a member of the royal family is on board or a senior Naval officer, they are given the Captain's cabin on the tanker.

The Captain's quarters aren't much larger than officers quarters, but a source told The Mirror that staying on the ship reminds the Prince of his days in the British Armed Forces. Prince Harry has been chatting and interacting with the seventy-two crew members. "He is really liking life on board, he took to it immediately and he is enjoying getting to know the crew and talking to everyone he meets. It is a reminder of his days as a serving officer in the Armed Forces." The royal isn't living it up with fancy meals or luxury accommodations as some might expect. "He is eating his meals with the team and the officers on the ship, in the mess with the other sailors. It is very traditional fare, a standard English breakfast and good, no frills food for other meals when he is on board."

Nor does the former military man expect or demand any special treatment. "The Prince does not get any special treatment and nor would he ever want any from the crew. "He has, though, been given the captain's cabin, in line with standard protocol when the ship hosts a member of the Royal family or a senior naval figure, and he is incredibly grateful for that."

Harry has just left the isles of St Vincent and the Grenadines where he had a full day of engagements and is now on board the RN tanker and sailing for Grenada, which takes a day to get there. So on Monday he should be enjoying the delights of Grenada.

^ I'd imagine Harry has returned, perhaps flew to a private airfield near London. The journalists that accompanied him on his tour are apparently still stuck in Guyana along with luggage non arrivals. They are all complaining about it and receiving sympathy from other journos! Inefficiencies of local airlines apparently. They might be home tomorrow, maybe, perhaps! It's been a long tour!

Harry's likely happy to be home at this point as it was a long tour with many stops.
