QuoteNew Year is usually the time to make changes in your life but Queen Letizia has started early, debuting a chic new hairstyle during a charity event at the Palacio Real today.

The Spanish queen, 42, showed off noticeably shorter, darker locks at the event which was held in honour of the Principe de Girona Foundation.

With her was husband King Felipe, 46, who certainly seemed to approve of the new 'do and beamed broadly as he strode into the room.

The foundation is the Spanish equivalent of The Prince's Trust and works with young people, helping them boost their chances of success in their careers.

IMO taking a few inches off her hair is very flattering and she can still have an updo if needed.

QuoteLetizia dons an old favorite while flashing new haircut

Queen Letizia flashed a brand new haircut today, on Friday December 19th, as she and husband, King Felipe, received guests at an event honouring the Principe de Girona Foundation at the Zarzuela Palace.

The 42-year-old royal's hair was a bit shorter than usual and had been styled in a very chic 1960's inspired look.

To highlight her new hairdo, Queen Leitizia opted for an old favourite of her's — her black and grey Hugo Boss dress that we saw her wear last time in October. Over the dress, the Queen donned a black blazer also from Hugo Boss. To complete her outfit, Letizia wore a pair of black suede heels and a black clutch.
