CP Mary visiting the Aarhus Hospital Family home. The home provides a place for families to stay while their child receives treatment at the hospital.

These homes are wonderful. We have Ranald MacDonald homes here in Australia near children's hospitals, begun and maintained by a big drive by Macca's' fast food outlets. These places allow the parents, usually the mother, and any other younger siblings to remain near to their seriously ill child while treatment continues. I think it's a fantastic idea as many of these families reside in country areas. Glad to see Denmark has much the same and that Mary is supporting this endeavour.

QuoteCrown Prince and Princess of Denmark have foreign exchange student living with them

Have you ever wished you could be a foreign exchange student somewhere and get the opportunity to live with a royal? For one foreign student in Denmark, this is a reality.

Crown Princess Mary of Denmark recently revealed at the University of Copenhagen that a foreign exchange student is living with the Crown Prince Couple at their home in Frederik VIII's Palace, which is part of the Amalienborg Palace complex in the Danish capital of Copenhagen.

She was at the University of Copenhagen on 3 May for the annual presentation of The Crown Princess Scholarship. Each year, the scholarship, which is in its 13th year, is given out to two students from the partner universities in Australia of the University of Copenhagen. The two Australian scholars who were awarded the scholarships this year are Avril Jane Francis and Thomas Patrick Lynch. Francis is studying sustainable urban planning at Griffith University while Lynch is working toward a degree in economics at the University of Queensland.

Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Mary of Denmark's hard work for women's empowerment and equal rights to be rewarded. The Crown Princess will be awarded the Womenomics Global Impact Award 2017 on 16 May in the Danish capital of Copenhagen. This comes after she was presented with the Berlingske Honorary Award, which is for someone who has done the extraordinary for Danish society, in January of this year.
