There is not too much detail about why Princess Alexandra and Count Jefferson-Friedrich divorced. All we know is that they've grown apart for some time as a couple and decided to end their marriage of 18 years.

A new divorce has stricken the Danish Royal Family. Queen Margrethe's niece, Princess Alexandra of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg, has decided to divorce her husband, Count Jefferson-Friedrich von Pfeil, after 18 years as a married couple.

Princess Alexandra of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg is the daughter of Princess Benedikte who is the sister of Queen Margrethe of Denmark and Queen Anne-Marie of Greece. Princess Alexandra's father is the recently deceased Prince Richard of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg, who died earlier this year.

This news was revealed in a press release from Her Royal Highness Princess Benedikte not long ago. In the press release, Princess Alexandra wrote: "It is an incredibly sad decision. We have known each other for 30 years, but it has now come to a point where we have grown apart. We have decided to end our marriage, but we will still cooperate on the parenting pf our two children."
