royals gather at Sandringham for Christmas Eve service | Daily Mail Online

QuotePrince Philip, 96, led the way this morning as the royal family arrived at St. Mary Magdalene Church, Sandringham, for a special Christmas Eve service.

The Duke of Edinburgh, with Prince Andrew by his side, looked in festive spirits as he strode past a small army of police officers at the royal estate.

Shortly after, the Queen, dressed in a pale blue skirt-suit and glamorous hat, was seen stepping out of her royal car to greet well-wishers who'd made the journey to see the royals assemble together ahead of celebrations at Sandringham tomorrow.

Her Majesty, 91, arrived with a smiling Sophie Wessex who donned an eye-catching bright red coat and sharp black hat.

The Queen kept warm during the short journey with a warm mid-blue blanket covering her legs as she prepared to step out into the brisk Norfolk morning.

I guess no appearance of Harry & Meghan until Christmas day.

I like the fact that the Queen had a bunch of daffodils. Daffodils are a true sign of Spring!

The Queen and other royals head to church in Castle Rising | Daily Mail Online

QuoteTemperatures dropped across the UK today with some parts experiencing snow, but that wasn't enough to deter the royals from attending their traditional Sunday church service.

The Queen braved a smattering of snow as she was joined by Prince Philip and granddaughters Beatrice and Eugenie at St Lawrence Church, Castle Rising this morning.

Her Majesty looked her elegant best in an emerald ensemble complete with matching coat and hat as she headed into the chapel, and could later be seen leaving the building with an umbrella after the heavens opened.

While her husband, youngest son and granddaughters were covered with a light dusting of snow, the monarch looked relieved to be protected from the elements underneath her brolly.
