Carola of Vasa was Princess Karoline Friederike Franziska Stephanie Amalie Cecilie (1833-1907). She was the daughter of the former Crown Prince Gustav of Sweden and Princess Louise Amelie of Baden. She was a granddaughter of King Gustav IV Adolf of Sweden.
There had been plans for her to marry Emperor Napoleon III of France. In 1852, Princess Carola converted to Catholicism. She married Crown Prince Albert of Saxony on June 18, 1853.
