QuoteShe is used to standing out from the crowd with her bold outfits and much-loved wide-brimmed hats.

But Queen Maxima, 45, faced some competition in the style stakes today as she welcomed the glamorous first lady of Argentina to the royal palace in Amsterdam.

Businesswoman Juliana Awada, 42, who is married to president Mauricio Macri, looked effortlessly chic in an all-white ensemble that dazzled in the spring sunshine.

King Willem-Alexander is so fortunate to have Queen Maxima as his wife. Her smile always has rays of vibrancy and optimism. It was so romantic when he mentioned that she was Argentina's most beautiful gift to him. I love it when a husband expresses his deep feelings like this to his wife.

QuoteKing Willem-Alexander thanks Argentina for "the most beautiful possible gift – my wife"

Last evening, during the state dinner in honour of President Mauricio Macri of Argentina and his wife, Juliana Awada's two-day state visit to the Netherlands, King Willem-Alexander thanked Argentina for Queen Máxima saying, "Argentina is a vibrant, passionate country. And the country, of course, that gave me the most precious of gifts: my wife, our Dutch Queen."

He went on to say how the Dutch have been able to learn about Argentina through Máxima, "Through her, the Netherlands has got to know Argentina better and to appreciate its culture even more."

QuoteArgentinian President and First Lady spent weekend in the Netherlands before official state visit

The Argentinian President, Mauricio Macri and his wife, Juliana Awada, spent the weekend at Kasteel Het Oude Loo in Apeldoorn, near the Loo Palace which was once built for stadtholder-king William III and Queen Mary II of England. They arrived on Saturday and were personally invited to the castle by King Willem-Alexander. The castle is currently being used by the Dutch Royal Family as a country house and guest residence. Crown Prince Naruhito and Crown Princess Masako of Japan also stayed at the castle for a few weeks.

Queen Máxima is quite close with the President of Argentina. During the Christmas holidays, President Macri and his wife visited the King and Queen while they were on holiday in Patagonia and just after Macri's election he met Queen Máxima at the World Economic Forum in Davos.

Today is the first day of the state visit. The president arrived at the Royal Palace in Amsterdam and was met with two groups of protesters. One group supports the President but the other group shouts, "Macri no grata!"

I enjoyed the Argentine state visit to the Netherlands. The Argentine President Mauricio Maci, First Lady Juliana Awada, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima all looked wonderful! The lunch they had at Binnehof in the first video with Prime Minister Mark Rutte was video was splendid. He did well on his welcome speech for the visitors and discussed the economic and cultural ties between the two countries. I like when he said when Argentine and Dutch unite, we are unstoppable. The video only had the highlights of the speech. Here is the link of his whole speech:

The second video is great too because it shows that Juliana Awada and Queen Maxima are both elegant and beautiful women!
