In the restaurant Het Slakkenhuisje (The Snail House) — a social cafeteria used by primarily elderly people and unattached men and woman from the local municipality — the King and Queen were treated to the daily menu consisting of tomato soup with vegetables, ham rolls and cake.

The royals split up during the meal and sat down at different tables to chat with the restaurant's guests.
