QuotePre-Colombian treasures exhibited at the Gold Museum in Bogota and modern Colombian art were the highlights on the first day of Belgian Princess Astrid's official visit to Colombia.

Dressed in a sober red skirt and a dark jacket, the sister of Belgian King Philippe was guided on both visits, in which she could admire artifacts made of gold and the colorful paintings of the Bogota Museum of Arts, her team reported.

In the arts museum, the princess enjoyed the exhibition titled "Andres de Santa Maria, the Bogotan years, 1893-1911," dedicated to one of the pioneers of impressionism in the South American nation, who moved later to Brussels, where he lived for more than 33 years until his death in 1945.

Princess Astrid Later visited the Gold Museum, in downtown Bogota.
