According to e entertainment Meghan back in LA since two days ago, and will be back to London for Christmas.
****
Her dad spoke to The Mirror that he would love to walk Meghan down the aisle. He spoke after receiving from the reporter a bottle of champagne and a box of English tea.
Why was he taking gifts from the Mirror?  Its not that it was very valuable but surely he doesn't need Englsih tea.. or if he does, he can afford to buy it himself.. sounds odd

The reporter probably thrust the bag into Tom Markle's arms while they were speaking to him and he didn't like to refuse.

Harry was with the military, he quit 2 years ago. Harry said in the interview he has not met Meghan's father, so it's very telling that in 1 year and a half, the couple haven't visited her dad, despite the fact of plenty time in their hands to have done so.

No luck for those hoping for a replica of Meghan Markle?s engagement ring ? Royal Central

Quotet?s been nearly two weeks since Clarence House announced the engagement between Prince Harry and U.S. actress, Meghan Markle. As with the engagement announcement between Prince William and Kate Middleton in 2010, much interest has been shown in Meghan?s ring. Stephen Connelly, Director of Cleave and Company, told the Associated Press that the company has received intense attention from the media. It has been: ?a bit of a shock.? He added: ?We?re not going to be making replicas of it. If you want a ring, then we?ll design you a different one.?

I actually saw a report on Aussie TV tonight about this. It spoke about the worldwide attention Cleave's have got from this. Two of the directors were interviewed and said that they had received an unprecedented number of enquiries about replicas, but of course that was impossible. They'll be getting increased business from the publicity however, no doubt about that. They were both smiling broadly!

Who might be chosen to do a religious reading at the wedding service?

Kritter

I believe Doria would be great at that but unsure if that is something the Mother of the Bride would be allowed to do.    :xmas5:

Who might be chosen to do a religious reading at the wedding service?
Possibly one of the bride or groom's family members or a close friend. James Middleton did one of readings at the Cambridge's 2011 wedding.

Curryong

Charles might do it. In fact I think he'd like it, or perhaps Mark Dyer.

royalanthropologist

Hmmm. Is Charles now back to being a dotting caring father? I thought last week he was supposed to be the distant father than only communicates by letter, does not attend birthdays and spends his time worshiping Camilla? :hehe:

I think it should be someone from the circle of friends or cousins, not the POW. POW is far too senior to be doing that. All that I ask is that they do not ask Charles Spencer, unless they want another scandalous performance.

I think all possible roles within the ceremony Meghan's side will be played by friends, her good family ties are reduced.

Curryong

All Kate's bridesmaids, pageboys with the exception of Pippa were from the royals side of the family. Meghan may well have friends or Ragland connections play some part in being bridesmaids and she will probably be given away by her father. Her mother will be there. That's enough.

^^^ Besides her friends Meghan possibly has other family members who have luckily escaped the notice of  the paparazzi ie aunts/uncles/cousins who might play a role at her wedding. Now like Kate she might not have young family-children who are of the appropriate age to be bridal attendants.  (William and Harry on the other hand have plenty.) :xmas1:

James Middleton did a flawless reading.
Which is not easy for someone with dyslexia to stand up and read to a worldwide audience IMO.

Curryong

Lyndsey Roth, one of Meghan's old North Western friends may do the reading, who knows.

wannable

Yes, or her bridesmaid.

The lovebirds' hearts may be set on a more low-key affair than the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge?s 2011 London extravaganza, but this will still be a wedding like no other

Does the Anglican Church of England have any specific rules on who may or may not do a reading?
Also, how many readings will there be?

@LouisFerdinand -There has to be at least one reading at a CoE wedding service.

QuoteMeghan Markle to attend Queen's pre-Christmas lunch at Buckingham Palace

MEGHAN MARKLE is set to be at the Queen's pre-Christmas lunch where she will be introduced to Prince Harry's extended family.

The Queen throws the traditional festive knees-up at Buckingham Palace every year to ensure she sees relatives who are not invited to Sandringham on December 25.

This year's event, thought to be on December 20, will be attended by at least 50 Royals including the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge with Prince George and Princess Charlotte, as well as relatives lower down the pecking order such as Prince and Princess Michael of Kent.

Kate attended the lunch with William following their engagement in November 2010.

She will be back from wherever by then.

What type of design do you think might be on the wedding invitations?   :daisy: :daisy: :daisy: :daisy: :daisy: :daisy:

QuoteReading a Prayer is not what makes a good Father

I'd be very surprised if Charles does a reading at his son's upcoming wedding as the royal and non-royal parents typically sit through the ceremony unless they're escorting their daughters to the altar. Charles gets to play a more traditional role- pay for most of  the bill. :xmas1:

Do you believe that one reason St. George's Chapel was chosen because Prince Harry had his christening there?

TLLK

Maybe it has a little sentimental reason, but I strongly believe the major reason was for security. After the 2017 terror attacks in the UK, I don't believe that the government wants to take any chances with safety. It's much easier for them to control the public's safety in a smaller area. Windsor Castle has a long history with various dynasties including the Windsors. Harry's great, great-great and great-great-great grandparents are buried there. Also this is not a state (Princess Elizabeth or Prince Charles) or semi-state (Prince William) wedding so the guest list will not be as extensive. SGC can seat up to 800 guests making it a good choice for the wedding.

Curryong

No. I believe St George's was chosen for cost and security reasons.
