Princess Michael of Kent to publish ‘inspiring’ wildlife book

Bradt Travel Guides will publish an "inspiring" new wildlife title by Her Royal Highness Princess Michael of Kent in September. Princess Michael is also the author of three non-fiction books, Crowned in a Far Country: Eight Royal Brides,  and Cupid and the King – Five Royal Paramours and The Serpent and The Moon, and two novels, The Queen Of Four Kingdoms and Agnès Sorel: Mistress of Beauty.

A Cheetah's Tale will detail aspects of Princess Michael's own life and will describe the travels she went on through Africa in the 1960s. Those travels sparked Princess Michael's lifelong interest in wildlife, and cheetahs in particular. As such, she is also the Royal Patron of the Endangered Species Centre in South Africa and of the Cheetah Conservation Fund in Namibia.

Princess Michael said: "The worldwide cheetah population has fallen 90% since 1900, leading to calls for the species' status to be changed from 'vulnerable' to 'endangered'. I hope the story of Tess, the cub I raised and released into the wild, will encourage readers to fall in love with cheetahs in order to help save them from extinction."
