I hope the twins had a wonderful birthday!  I like the three new pictures the Royal Danish House released of them. They are beautiful children.

QuotePrince Vincent and Princess Josephine of Denmark celebrated their 6th birthday today. They are the youngest children of Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark. They have an older brother, Prince Christian (b. 15 October 2005) and an older sister, Princess Isabella (b. 21 April 2007).

This morning, the Royal Danish House released three new images in celebration of their birthday. They were taken by Pernille Rohde.

Last year, the Danish Monarchy released three images of Vincent and Josephine taken by their mother, the Crown Princess.

New portraits of Princess Josephine and Prince Vincent of Denmark released to celebrate their sixth birthday

Three adorable portraits of the royal twins, Princess Josephine and Prince Vincent of Denmark, have been released to celebrate their sixth birthday.

The photos, which were taken by Pernille Rohde, show the Crown Princess Mary and Crown Prince Frederik's two youngest children smiling for the camera in sweet separate portraits. The little prince wore a pale shirt while the princess wore an embroidered white top with her blonde hair in a braid. In the third photo, the brother and sister are posing together for a black-and-white snap with Prince Vincent's arm around his sister. Fans of the Danish royal family were quick to discuss the new photos, with one writing: "Congratulations to the two kids hope you have a great day," while another added: "Happy birthday to the sweet two... beautiful pictures!"

Queen Margrethe wants to be able to spend more time with her husband. She liked it when he was there with her at events and has felt quite sad after he retired. She might abdicate and let Crown Prince Frederik become king. I wonder if they will do a big inauguration ceremony where they will invite all the royals from around the world like for the one of King Willem-Alexander & Queen Maxima in the Netherlands? It probably will be similar to that.

QuoteIn recent months, many rumours have been circulating about the Danish Royal Family, especially the Danish Queen, Margrethe II and her husband, Prince Henrik. It is almost a year since Prince Henrik chose to retire, and after his retirement has he rarely been seen in public with Queen Margrethe.

When the Danish Queen held the annual New Year gala-dinner for diplomats and politicians earlier this month, the Prince and The Queen were seen together – the first time in more than six months.

It is the Swedish royal news magazine Svensk Damtiding who reports that they have contacted some of Denmark's royal experts and their interpretation of this is clear: The Queen misses her husband and it is likely she is going to abdicate shortly. The Danish royal experts that the magazine spoke to say that the Queen has changed lately. The Queen is reportedly not as happy as she tends to be.

This is really big news! If Crown Prince Frederik brought an island for his wife, then that's a pity. Lavish spending like this for a royal family that's trying to win the approval of their country's people is unacceptable. This is exactly what King Felipe was trying to avoid.

I am so glad this is not true! Crown Prince Frederik is NOT buying his wife an island!  Some of these media websites created the most preposterous stories for their own gain. It is all about getting the attention for many readers/viewers who will help keep their websites popular.

QuoteContrary to reports, Crown Prince Frederik is not buying his wife an island

Reports in Australian and British media have claimed that Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark had made plans to purchase his wife, Crown Princess Mary an island for her 45th birthday coming up on 5 February.

The Royal Danish House has come out to quash these rather absurd claims which included a claim that His Royal Highness paid 69 million Danish kroner for the island off the coast of Tasmania, Australia. Mary was born in Tasmania in 1972.

Publications like Australia's New Idea, who published the original report, and Britain's Daily Mail reported that the deal was complete and would be called Isle Mary.

^ I don't think most people who follow the Danish royals believed that preposterous report for a minute. The DRF live quite unostentatious lives really and even when he is King it would be extremely doubtful that Fredrik will have that kind of spare cash to throw around on luxury items like holiday islands. I wouldn't be surprised if estate agents involved in the selling of the island might have got involved in that particular rumour.

Media is out of control. Monarchies should start suing. How can you publish such nonsense without a thread of evidence??? The Daily Hate in particular is a great culprit at publishing untrue stories and then blaming someone else for them after they are caught out.

Indeed they are @royalanthropologist. There are segments of that industry that are on  life support, so they're desperate for anything that will guarantee advertising revenue.

Happy Birthday, Crown Princess Mary! I hope she will have a fantastic celebration. I didn't know she studied the piano, flute and clarinet as a child! I imagine she is still good at playing instruments.

QuotePrince Henrik returns from annual vacation in Egypt

His Royal Highness Prince Henrik of Denmark, Queen Margrethe's husband, has completed his annual winter holiday to Egypt.

Prince Henrik has almost annually gone on vacation over the last decade to the Arab nation to shorten the cold Danish winter. The Prince travelled straight to Egypt from a private vacation with his good friends Christian Kjaer and his wife, Susan Astani Kjær in the Caribbean.

Prince Henrik's friend, Enan Galaly, owns several hotels in Egypt, and therefore, Prince Henrik tends to stay at one of these hotels. This time His Royal Highness travelled around the country and toured several of Egypt's historical sites.

QuotePrince Felix of Denmark to be confirmed on 1 April

His Highness Prince Felix of Denmark, the younger son of Prince Joachim of Denmark and his ex-wife, Alexandra, Countess of Frederiksborg, will be confirmed on Saturday, 1 April at Fredensborg Palace Church at 11 am local time.

The 14-year-old's confirmation into the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Denmark (also called Church of Denmark) is earlier than those of his classmates who are not due to go through their confirmations until the end of April or the beginning of May. However, he is a year older than his brother, uncle and father were when they went through their ceremony.

The church has a royal history of confirmations in the Danish Royal Family. His older brother, Prince Nikolai and grandmother, Queen Margrethe were both confirmed there, as well. Prince Felix's confirmation will take place exactly 62 years after his grandmother. Nikolai was confirmed on 18 May 2013 at 13-years-old. His uncle, Crown Prince Frederik and father, Prince Joachim were also christened at 13.

QuoteRoyals celebrate as Queen Margrethe of Denmark turns 77

As we in the United Kingdom look forward to celebrating the 91st birthday of Queen Elizabeth II next week, the people in Denmark celebrated the 77th birthday of their Queen.

Queen Margrethe has been ruler of Denmark for forty-five years, making her the second longest serving Danish monarch after Christian IV, who was King from 1588 to 1648. She took the throne in January 1972, following the passing of her father Frederick IX. At the time of Margrethe's birth, only men could ascend the throne, but the Danish law of succession was changed just after World War II when it became clear after three daughters the chance of a male heir for King Frederick had all but vanished.

QuoteWho is Princess Isabella of Denmark?

On 21 April 2007, Crown Princess Mary of Denmark gave birth to her and Crown Prince Frederik's second child. In October 2005, they had a son, Prince Christian, but this time, they had a baby girl at the Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen weighing 3350 gr. A 21-gun salute was fired the next day in celebration of the birth of a new princess.

Following the tradition of the Danish Royal Family, her name was not announced until her christening on 1 July 2007 in the chapel of Fredensborg Palace. Her name was announced then as Her Royal Highness Princess Isabella Henrietta Ingrid Margrethe. Her middle name of Henrietta was given to her in memory of her late maternal grandmother. Of course, her middle name of Margrethe was in honour of her paternal grandmother, the Queen of Denmark.

Princess Isabella's godparents were named as Queen Mathilde of Belgium, Princess Alexia of Greece and Denmark, Christian Buchwald, Peter Heering, Nadine Johnston and Marie Louise Skeel.

What a cute story, and of course ducklings are absolutely adorable. Good on Mary for setting them free and her children obviously enjoyed them flying away. Here in Australia they often land in people' swimming pools and then can't get out again because of high steps etc. Wildlife authorities ask people to place levels of plastic between water and poolside so they can get out.

I think it is so sweet that Queen Margrethe and Prince Henrik's grandchildren joined in the unveiling of the sculpture for their 50th wedding anniversary. They were all so delighted to be there. It's is a miracle to have grandparents who have been successfully married for that long. I like how the couple values the importance of marriage with their unity and dedication for each other.

QuoteQueen Margrethe and Prince Henrik unveil sculpture for 50th wedding anniversary

Yesterday, 5 June, Her Majesty Queen Margrethe of Denmark and her husband, Prince Henrik unveiled a sculpture in honour of their upcoming 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday at Fredensborg Palace.

The sculpture called "Miss Fredensborg" was designed by Prince Henrik, who retired from royal duties in 2016, and is located in the private section of the gardens of the palace. "Miss Fredensborg" is the couple's joint gift to one another.

They were joined by their two sons, Crown Prince Frederik and Prince Joachim; daughters-in-law, Crown Princess Mary and Princess Marie; and grandchildren, Prince Nikolai, Prince Felix, Prince Christian, Princess Isabella, Prince Henrik, Prince Vincent, Princess Josephine and Princess Athena.
