After the accession of the House of Oldenburg to the Danish throne in 1448, the Danish coronations were held in St. Mary's Cathedral (Church of Our Lady) in Copenhagen.

I must say, and this is just my own personal taste, I do prefer the Gothic architecture in churches and cathedrals to the Italianate, even though St Paul's in London is magnificent.

Christian III (who, somewhat surprisingly was educated as a Lutheran)changed all that and after 1536 the DRF joined many of their poorer subjects and became Lutherans. They haven't changed since.

Up early today for the Dawn Service at our local memorial. Don't go to the city one any more. Anzac Day is still important here. Thousands have lined the streets to see the marches today, young and old, all ethnicities looking on. It's mostly our Vietnam vets marching nowadays, (those that can still do it) and ex Peace Keeping forces from different conflicts. Friends went to see the Commonwealth Graves from WW1 last year. Still heartbreaking I expect. I saw them as a schoolgirl in France and Belgium but not at Gallipoli.

Chiara was busy batting off rumours about herself and CP Christian of Denmark last year. They were snapped together at Monaco last summer and have seen each other occasionally since. She did chat about him on her IG in passing occasionally at that time but they are just good friends.

I remember that! I get Mrs. Bennett vibes from the mother. If they want a Prince, I hope they find one and live happily ever after.

Both Victoria and Vancouver will be on Princess Anne's itinerary during her visit next week, although full details have not yet been released.

The Royal Canadian Navy is hosting her stay in Canada from May 3-5, during which she will be designated as honorary commodore-in-chief of the Canadian Fleet Pacific.
