Monaco royal weddings: Grace Kelly and Prince Rainier III - hellomagazine.com

Prince Rainier was disappointed that part of the major nations had refused to send a significant dignitary to his and Grace's wedding. Invitations had gone to Buckingham Palace, Winston Churchill, President Eisenhower, and President de Gaulle.

Yes, there were few leaders of world stature or other royals who came to Rainier and Grace's wedding. I attribute it to the fact that there were very few family links to other royal Houses (the Monaco royals have always been unconventional in their choice of marriage partners and many of the unions hadn't lasted) that the Principality was looked down on a little by other European monarchies, and because Monaco had the reputation of being, in Somerset Maugham's famous phrase,'a sunny place for shady people' at the time.

Poor Rainier, I think he and Grace did do a lot to try and make Monaco more respectable.  But I feel that even now it problaby is not highly favoured by other royal families.  The Grimaldi children have turned out a very mixed bunch

Yes Anne Marie wore the Khedive of Egypt tiara which has been worn by nearly all of Queen Ingrid's descendants.

The Khedive of Egypt Tiara

QuoteAfter Ingrid?s death in 2000, she left the tiara to her younger daughter, Anne-Marie, the former queen of Greece. Anne-Marie has had alterations made to the base of the piece, so that it sits much higher now on the wearer?s head (you can clearly see these changes in wedding photos of Nathalie of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg, the only bride to have worn it so far after it was altered).
