When she attended West Heath, Diana won an award, handed to her at the behest of the headmistress.     
The award was the Miss Clarence Award. It was presented only to outstanding students for service to school.   
It was a reward for Lady Diana's social work outside the school.

Diana enjoyed doing charity work at school she often went to the local senior center to help the elderly residents dancing with those in wheelchairs.

Good for her, her parents should have identified this was her best shot.

Now a days the involved prefects and student governing bodies, charity is part of, a must in the curriculum.
