QuoteThe Project Director of Mapfre Foundation, the Infanta Elena, participated in the closing of the third course of tennis to people with diverse abilities held in Barcelona.  This is an initiative that takes place in the Sanchez-Casal Academy of this city and which since 2012 has the support of Mapfre Foundation and Emilio Sanchez Vicario Foundation and other institutions as Acell Federation, the association DINCAT The association of Catalonia Down Syndrome, Special Olympics and Alex Foundation.

The aim of this course, which have already benefited 150 people with intellectual disabilities, is to teach tennis as a tool to improve their physical and mental health and develop social, physical and motor skills, keys to facilitate their integration into society .

The closing ceremony of the course, which has also participated Emilio Sanchez Vicario, Honorary President of the Foundation that bears his name, Fernando Garrido, Director of the Department of Social Action Mapfre Foundation;  and Ferran Martinez, Regional Director General of MAPFRE in Catalonia;  brought together students, family members and coaches of the Sanchez-Casal Academy.
