QuoteThe UK Wine Research Centre at Plumpton College was officially opened by Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall earlier this month.

Described as the first dedicated viticulture and oenology research centre in the UK, the facility incorporates the Rathfinny Research Winery and the Jack Ward Laboratory, providing facilities and expertise to drive research and innovation in English vine growing and winemaking, and so help to further develop the English wine industry.

Principal of the East Sussex college Des Lambert said: "We are thrilled to welcome the Duchess and are excited to be able to provide the English wine industry with first-class research facilities as well to offer the UK's first MSc in wine production." The postgraduate course in viticulture and oenology begins in September.
