Ms Shahin primarily spoke of how Sayyidat Nashmiyyat tried to encourage Jordanian women to use social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter and YouTube to be more proactive in society, and use those sites as instruments in a constructive manner to promote positive change.

The group also hopes that its efforts will tackle not just women's issues within their societies, but also other social concerns such as racism, poverty, and inter-religious violence. So far, the group has been radically successful in combating all of these.

On Monday, Her Majesty Queen Rania of Jordan met with Jordan's Lower House Education Committee to discuss educational reform, which is something Her Majesty is very passionate about. They spoke about critical issues including raising Jordan's overall standing in education through teacher training at the Queen Rania Teacher Academy.

MPs who are members of the Jordanian parliament's education committee were in attendance including Dr Barakat Al Muheirat Al Abbadi, Dr Suleiman Al Zaben, and Dr Safa' Momani. Student-teachers enrolled in the programme were also there to speak with the assembled MPs, leaders of the Queen Rania Teacher Academy, and Her Majesty.

The meeting began with a presentation from the CEO of the Queen Rania Teacher Academy, Haif Bannayan regarding "the academy's teacher training diploma program, and its partnerships with the ministry of education as well as local, regional and international universities," according to a press release sent out by the Office of Her Majesty.

In a ceremony conducted this past Monday, His Majesty King Abdullah of Jordan awarded the Royal Medical Services (RMS) with the highest military honour he could bestow – the Supreme Commander's Flag.

Before the Jordanian Royal Family, various high-ranking military officers, and important civil officials, the King presented the RMS the flag in recognition for their diverse services, efforts and contributions to the medical field. The award was granted by His Majesty in his capacity as Supreme Commander of the Jordanian Armed Forces. He was greeted at the ceremony by an official 21-gun salute.

The handing over of the flag is a battle honour and tribute to the services and sacrifices that the Jordanian military undertakes on behalf of the Kingdom of Jordan and is a mark of great respect. It is the equivalent of a Victoria Cross, or the Medal of Honour, but is awarded to units rather than individuals. A seasoned member of the Armed Forces himself, the King is often eager to show his appreciation for the soldiers under his command, and ensure strong ties between the military, the government, and the Jordanian Royal Family.

Her Majesty Queen Rania of Jordan undertook a visit to the Hashimiyat Al Zarqa on Monday. This was done to principally to check up on the progress of a number of small, community-based fundraising projects taking place in the area. Located in the Governorate of Al Zarqa, the projects are aimed towards the improvement of living standards in the area.

The Queen of Jordan was also accompanied during her visit by the founder of the Community Centre Association (CCA) and its President, Dr Firyah Saleh, all of whom toured the Al Hashimiyah Women Society for Social Development with its president, Ms Fatmeh al Jamal. The Women Society provides for the needs of the region's underprivileged groups, including women, poor families and orphans. It has been in operation since 2010.

After the tour, Her Majesty visited a business workshop conducted by the non-profit organisation Injaz, which offers lessons on how to develop business ideas into ventures that can actually turn a profit, as well as a kiosk run by local resident, Hussein al Hindawi. This was set up with funds from the Royal Hashemite Court (HRC). Mr al Hindawi, who suffers from blindness, has since been able to use the proceeds from his business to help support his family.

Her Majesty suggested that there are most likely a number of factors behind the slump in standards, which can all be summed up with the sentiment that Jordan is just in a different place from ten years ago. The population of Jordan is much bigger than it was, the infrastructure is placed under pressure from refugees fleeing nearby conflict zones, and while Jordan is relatively unscathed by the regional conflict of the past decade, it has not been completely unaffected.

The leaked memo indicates the US lawmakers were personally briefed by His Majesty King Abdullah in January 2016 about plans for Jordan's special forces to operate in Libya alongside with British SAS-troops. The memo also states that His Majesty met with US congressional leaders which include John McCain and speaker, Paul Ryan.

The tobacco industry that receives money at the expense of people's health develops many bad ways through which it increases the number of consumers as much as possible.
