When Princess Charlotte started preschool this week, her confidence was clear to all who saw her adorable first-day-of-school photos. And even when she's not posing for her mom's camera, that princess sparkle shines through.

She's very sweet and very confident, she's always chatting away, says a source in this week's issue of PEOPLE.

The 2-year-old, who turns 3 in May, is so polite, but also fun and energetic, says the source, adding, She has beautiful manners.

The talkative toddler has another talent, too: She speaks some Spanish. Nanny Maria Turrion Borrallo is from Spain.

Excellente!  I like that Maria is giving Charlotte and I would guess George a basic foundation in a second language. Nice to hear that the little girls is described  as polite and confident as well.

I think it is very young to send a child to school, but charlotte does appear to be a very confident child.  In looks a bit like the queen...

She looks nothing like the Queen. IMO. The QUeen's DNA can't obliterate everyone else's I see a lot of Kate and Carole in her.

I think she looks just like Kate at that age. Royalists always try to put the Queen into everything.   :ahhh:

An advantage for both George and Charlotte, bilingualism.

Bilingual?  Hardly.  They've probably learned  a little bit of Spanish words....

Time will tell,  I'm trilingual, started as a toddler.  Listening to different languages at a very young age et all, the little ones have it easier than adults to learn quickly.

I cant see why their nanny would b be using a lot of Spanish with them... So I'd take this as a "they've learned a few words"..

Probably that, although IF I were W&K, I'd use the advantage that Nanny Maria Teresa is bilingual...being exposed and learning at an early age different languages has many benefits.

@wannable-I wish that my mother-in-law had taught my husband German when he was a child, however she didn't and he only started learning it in high school. (Pretty much all he can do is basic conversation.) If he'd been bilingual then I would have asked him to speak it to our children as well.

Is Princess Charlotte to be known as Charlotte Cambridge at the nursery school?

@LouisFerdinand -Quite likely she is known as Charlotte Cambridge just like her brother is known as George Cambridge and her father was William Wales/Flight Lt. Wales in years past.
