MAX HASTINGS: Prince Harry's wrong on medals for wounded soldiers | Daily Mail Online

Max Hastings should realize he was wrong abut the morton book, and hes wrong about this. Its a perfect example of Old Britain coming against New Britain. While few soldiers are excited to get the purple heart, it does show some measure of appreciation for service, god knows most veterans have a tough time out of service with support.

They could create two or more one for the "splinters" that seem to cause Mr. Hastings such concern and a different one for loss of limb, etc. With what we ask them to do, a small piece of ribbon with some metal is not a big task.

His argument is after injury, no job, no marriage, no nothing of a life. An extra medal will not do it.

Prince Harry wants to enter a Royal honour for soldiers that have been killed on the battlefield or there wounded by return. Harry refers according to The Mirror to the United States, where the president the Purple Heart given to wounded and killed armed forces.

Harry, who served in Afghanistan, regularly makes hard for wounded soldiers. One of his most important achievements is the establishment of the Invictus Games, a sporting event for disabled veterans, similar to the Paralympic Games.

The VC is sort of like the Medal of Honor in the US, its the highest award for gallantry/bravery in action against the enemy. its generally assumed you would be wounded during that but its not a requirement. You could in theory get the purple heart and the medal of honor, but only very few people who get the purple heart does something worthy enough to get the medal of honor.
