QuoteHe has long been feted in classrooms as England's greatest playwright. But now fans of Shakespeare are one step closer to establishing a national day of celebration in the writer's name after the Queen gave the seal of approval.

A team at a Tudor museum in Stratford-upon-Avon is calling for a national Shakespeare Supper Night to celebrate Shakespeare in the same way that Scottish poet Robert Burns is remembered on Burns Night.

Now, they have received a response from the Queen, backing the idea and telling them she is forwarding the proposal to Maria Miller, the Culture Secretary.

Awesome-ness. If I ever decide to make a pilgrimage to England. I'll know when to go...before Shakespeare night!  :yesss: Surprised this actually didn't happen before. I mean, there is "Shakespeare in the Park" but it usually has other plays by other playwrights in the mix. Aw! Good times.  :love2:
