Some, like Andy Murray's knighthood, were expected I suppose, some, like Ken Dodd being knighted very unexpected as far as I'm concerned, even though he's quite elderly now and sometimes they wait until the recipient is around Prince Philip's age! Also, I believe that Victoria Beckham blabbed to her extended family over Christmas that she was going to get an award in the New Years Honours List and somehow it leaked out. That's a definite no-no, but I suppose the Queen will get over it!
