Prince William Biography
Princess Diana gave birth to her first son on June 21, 1982 at approximately 9:00pm at St. Mary’s Hospital in London. Prince William Arthur Philip Louis was christened on August 4 of the same year.
Official styles and titles
Prince William's full title is His Royal Highness Prince William of Wales KG.
Prince William is also known as Flight Lieutenant William Wales when serving in the military.
On the day of his marriage, the Queen gave Prince William the following titles: The Duke of Cambridge, Earl of Strathearn and The Baron of Carrickfergus.
Prince William first attended Mrs. Mynor's Nursery School, and then moved onto the Wetherby School in London in 1987 - he was 5 years old. When Prince William was 8, he transitioned to Ludgrove School in Berkshire for 5 years, and then went on to complete his schooling at Eton College where he studied Geography, Biology and History of Art at A Level.
After completing his A Levels, Prince William took a gap year, where he traveled to Chile and Belize. In Chile, Prince William took part in the Raleigh International program, teaching children in the town of Tortel for a period of 10 weeks. In Belize, he participated in training exercises with the British Army. He also took some time to visit various countries in Africa, and to work on British dairy farms.
At the end of his gap year, Prince William studied History of Art and Geography at St Andrews University in Scotland, where he graduated with a Scottish Master of Arts degree with upper second class honours in geography, in 2005.
Life after St. Andrews
Prince William spent some time getting hands-on work experience directly following his graduation. In 2005, he worked with the Football Association, he did land management at Chatsworth House, Derbyshire, he worked briefly at HSBC in Canary Wharf, and he rounded out the year with the Royal Air Force
When his work experience was complete, Prince William joined the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst as an Officer Cadet in January 2006. He was commissioned as an army officer in front of Her Majesty The Queen at Sandhurst in December 2006 and joined the Household Cavalry (Blues and Royals) as a Second Lieutenant.
As Prince William will someday be the head of the British armed forces, and the likelihood of him being sent to any war zone being slim to none, William expressed interest in training will all branches of the military, and spent portions of a year with both the Royal Navy and the Royal Air Force. He obtained the commission of a sub-lieutenant in the Royal Navy, and a Flying Officer in the Royal Air Force.
Prince William was presented with this RAF Wings in 2008, and although is still a Lieutenant in the Household Cavalry, Prince William is now training to be a search and rescue Pilot with the Royal Air Force.
Relationship and marriage to Catherine Middleton
Prince William has always done his best to keep his personal life out of the media, however his long-term relationship with Catherine (Kate) Middleton was made public in November 2010, when the couple announced their engagement. The couple married on 29 April 2011 in a ceremony at Westminster Abbey. The couple are styled the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and intend to live in Wales while William completes his military commitment. It is uncertain how the couple plan to proceed after that.
